A walkthrough of the BirdDog operator dashboard, covering the action bar for pending tasks, performance stats like revenue and listing views, upcoming hunts and booking statuses, a real-time activity feed for messages and reviews, and top listing rankings that help operators understand what's working and where to improve.
Your dashboard is the first thing you see when you log into BirdDog. It's your command center — one screen that tells you how your properties are performing, what needs your attention, and what's happening across your operation right now.
No digging through menus. No switching between tools. One centralized location to know your land and manage it to its full potential.
Here's what you're looking at and how to use it.
The first thing you'll notice at the top of your dashboard is the action bar. This is BirdDog's way of flagging anything that needs your attention right now — before you do anything else.
If you have booking requests waiting for your confirmation, you'll see them called out here with the hunter's name and a direct link to review them. Pending requests mean a hunter is interested and waiting to hear from you, so the faster you respond, the better your chances of converting that inquiry into a confirmed booking. Tap "Review requests" to go straight to them.
The action bar may also prompt you to update your calendar or manage availability. Keeping your calendar current is one of the most important things you can do on BirdDog — it prevents double-bookings, sets accurate expectations for hunters, and keeps your operation running smoothly. Think of the action bar as your daily to-do list. When it's clear, you're caught up. When something's there, it needs your attention.
Below the action bar, you'll see four key numbers that give you an instant read on how your operation is performing this season.
Season Revenue shows your total earnings on BirdDog for the current season, broken down by completed and active bookings. This is real money — what your properties and experiences have generated through the platform. As your season progresses, this number tells you whether you're on pace, ahead, or have room to push.
Season Bookings shows the total number of bookings you've received, including how many are pending confirmation. If you see pending bookings here, those hunters are waiting on you — head to the action bar to confirm or decline them.
Listing Views tells you how many times hunters have looked at your listings this month across all of your properties and experiences. This is your visibility metric. If your views are high but your bookings are low, it might be time to revisit your descriptions, photos, or pricing. If your views are low, think about where you're sharing your profile — our Marketing Your Operation guide has ideas for getting more eyes on your listings.
Next Payout shows the amount of your upcoming payment and when it will arrive. No guesswork on when you're getting paid — it's right there on the dashboard every time you log in.
These four numbers together answer the question every operator has: "How's my operation doing?" You shouldn't have to dig for that answer, and on BirdDog, you don't.
The left side of your dashboard shows your upcoming hunts and experiences — a chronological list of what's on the books, who's coming, and the status of each.
For every upcoming booking, you'll see the hunter's name, the experience they booked, the dates, the party size, and a status indicator. Statuses include:
Confirmed means the booking is locked in. The hunter is committed, the dates are set, and you're good to go. This is where you want every booking to land.
Pending means a hunter has requested a booking but it hasn't been confirmed yet. These need your action — either confirm or decline them from the action bar or by clicking into the booking.
This list is your at-a-glance schedule. Before a busy weekend or the start of a new season, one look here tells you exactly who's coming, when they're arriving, and how many people are in each party. No need to cross-reference a separate calendar or check your email for confirmation details.
You can also click through to your full calendar from this section for a broader view of your schedule.
The right side of your dashboard is your activity feed — a real-time stream of everything happening across your operation. This is where BirdDog keeps you in the loop without you having to go looking for updates.
You'll see activity like:
Booking requests when a hunter submits a new booking for one of your experiences. You'll see their name, the experience, the dates, and the party size. New requests also trigger an email notification, but the activity feed gives you the full picture in context alongside everything else happening on your properties.
New messages from hunters — whether they're asking a question before booking or coordinating details for an upcoming trip. You can see a preview of the message right in the feed and click through to respond. Quick response times build trust, so keep an eye on these.
Check-in statuses that show when a hunter has arrived at your property and their experience is in progress. This is especially useful if you manage multiple properties or have team members coordinating on-site — everyone can see at a glance who's on the ground.
Reviews from hunters after their experience. When someone leaves feedback, it shows up in your activity feed with a snippet of what they wrote. Reviews are some of the most valuable content on your profile — they build credibility with future hunters and give you honest feedback on how your operation is performing.
Payout processing notifications that confirm when a payment has been processed, the amount, and which booking it's tied to. No more wondering if a payment went through or chasing down transaction details.
The activity feed is chronological and timestamped, so you can scroll through it to see what happened today, yesterday, or over the past week. It's the fastest way to stay on top of your operation without checking five different places.
At the bottom of your dashboard, you'll find your top listings for the current month — ranked by performance. For each listing, you'll see three metrics: views, inquiries, and bookings.
Views is how many times hunters have seen that specific listing. Inquiries is how many reached out with a question or a booking request. Bookings is how many confirmed.
This ranking tells you what's working and what might need attention. If a listing has high views but low inquiries, hunters are finding it but something isn't compelling them to reach out — that's a signal to revisit the description, photos, or pricing. If a listing has inquiries but no bookings, the conversation might be stalling — check your messaging response times and the clarity of your first replies.
On the other hand, if a listing is consistently at the top with strong views, inquiries, and bookings, pay attention to what makes it different from your other listings. The photos might be better, the description more specific, or the pricing more competitive. What's working on your top listing can often be applied to the rest.
This section turns your dashboard from a status report into a tool for making your operation better over time.
