Raised in rural North Texas, Jonathan's journey took him from Wall Street at Goldman Sachs to building his own investment firm and ultimately back to where it all began, with a clear vision: help landowners make and save money on their land. In 2022, Jonathan founded BirdDog to combine deep financial expertise with tech-enabled innovation, creating a landowner intelligence platform designed to help families steward their properties, unlock new income opportunities, and build lasting legacies. At the center of that vision is Jonathan's relentless commitment to his family, his team, and the landowners BirdDog serves. He leads with faith, grit, and an unwavering belief that great businesses — like great legacies — are built to last.
Originally from Albany, Texas, a proud Aggie, and one of BirdDog's earliest employees, Cotter has been part of the journey from the beginning — and his adventures along the way have taken him from a wild safari hunt on the plains of South Africa to being stranded on a West Texas ranch with a broken axle and no cell service. At his core, Cotter is an adventurer who pursues, gets his hands dirty, takes risks, and serves more than he asks. He's completed an Ironman, hunts, camps, and fishes every chance he gets, and has a rare ability to see around corners while constantly searching for better ways to serve customers and teammates. Through it all, he keeps us grounded with a perfectly timed Texas one-liner and an instinct for what really matters. Around here, "BirdDog it" means find a way, figure it out, and get it done with excellence — and Cotter embodies that standard every day. BirdDog wouldn't be where it is today without him, and we're just getting started.
Formally trained as an architect, Adam has spent his career building just about everything except buildings — from virtual-reality platforms and creator businesses to operational software for domestic steel distributors. Along the way, he's developed a habit of walking into complexity and turning it into a platform built to scale. At his core, Adam is endlessly curious, relentlessly hands-on, and probably a little too excited by technical problems everyone else has learned to work around. At BirdDog, Adam sets the technical direction, connects data across the business, and builds the foundation behind its customer-facing products and internal operations. His job is to help BirdDog move quickly today without creating problems for tomorrow — and to make sure its technology scales right alongside its ambitions.
From the baseball diamond at Virginia Tech to the front lines of land, Nolan brings a competitor's edge, a closer's instincts, and a relationship-first approach to everything he does. At his core, he's a builder of trust and a driver of results, with an ability to listen for what matters, connect the right people to the right opportunities, and create lasting value for landowners, Stewards, and partners. Whether he's helping landowners protect their legacy, uncover the potential in their acreage, or build partnerships that move conservation and commerce forward, Nolan operates with purpose and persistence. He believes the best deals aren't closed with a pitch — they're built on mutual benefit and earned credibility. At BirdDog, Nolan is helping put the right resources in the hands of the people who care most about the land while building relationships that last well beyond the first handshake.
Meet Ben Roberson, a driving force behind BirdDog's growth and one of the team's top sales leaders. A lifelong outdoorsman and fly-fishing guide, Ben's connection to the outdoors goes well beyond his work at BirdDog. Before joining the team, he built River Hawk Fly Fishing as an owner and guide and co-founded Guide Book, combining his passion for time on the water with an entrepreneurial drive to bring people together through the outdoors. A University of Louisville graduate, Ben has built his career around relationships, growth, and connecting with people — skills that translate naturally to his work with landowners today. He's competitive, personable, and at his best when he's talking with someone about a piece of land, a day on the water, or the next opportunity. At BirdDog, Ben works directly with landowners to help them recognize new opportunities for their property while building the relationships that continue to grow BirdDog's network. For Ben, it's a natural intersection of what he does best: people, land, and the outdoors.
Luke Coolidge brings a strong background in human capital management and finance, with experience helping organizations navigate workforce strategy, financial performance, and long-term growth. A proud Texas native, Luke understands what land means to the people who own it — from protecting a family legacy to getting the most out of every acre. He brings that blend of financial expertise and people-focused experience to BirdDog with a simple mission: help landowners get more out of their land.
A Houston native and proud Aggie, Blake studied business honors and finance at Texas A&M, played lacrosse, and sharpened his commercial instincts in the oil and gas world, where he managed trading risk and investments before bringing that discipline back to the world he knows best. His roots have always been in the field, hunting and fishing alongside the landowners and outfitters he grew up around, and he brings both the analytical edge and the field credibility to a role that demands both. At his core, Blake is a hands-on problem solver who'd rather build the answer than admire the question: someone who can sit down with an outfitter, understand how they actually operate, and turn their biggest headaches into solutions that stick. He believes the best products aren't built in a conference room; they're built in the field, alongside the people who use them. At BirdDog, Blake is the bridge between customers and product, making sure every problem solved in the field makes the platform stronger for the next person through the gate.
A proud Aggie who studied agricultural economics and international trade at Texas A&M, Macy's path to BirdDog started long before graduation. She grew up in show barns raising and showing livestock, spent time on ranches learning to manage land and cattle, worked in crop research, and spent many months interning at livestock shows all before finishing her degree. After graduating in 2025, she got started in the insurance industry. At her core, Macy is hardworking and detail-oriented, someone who loves identifying problems and creating the best solution for them. From hunting for as long as she can remember to working all throughout the agricultural industry, Macy's experience helps her to really connect and understand landowners and land users. She isn't just processing a policy, she's genuinely invested in protecting what people have built and the heritage behind it, whether that legacy stretches back generations or is just getting started. At BirdDog, she's helping landowners safeguard the land and the story it's telling, today and for whoever comes next.
Derek's career has spanned brand, marketing, and product roles across the tech industry, and he brings that experience to BirdDog with a builder's mentality and a marketer's eye. At his core, Derek is a storyteller and strategist who knows how to take something complex, find the truth at the center of it, and communicate it in a way that moves people to act. Whether he's shaping how BirdDog is positioned to landowners, developing campaigns that bridge conservation and commerce, or helping Stewards and Adventurers understand what's possible, he operates with clarity, precision, and purpose. Derek believes the best brands aren't built on what you say — they're built on what you deliver. At BirdDog, his mission is to ensure every touchpoint reflects the trust, depth, and purpose behind the company while building something worth believing in and telling that story in a way that lasts.
Ben's career has taken him from packed stadiums and professional locker rooms to the Texas coast, dirt roads, and campfires across the country, and he brings the same intensity and discipline he developed competing at the highest level of professional soccer to building relationships with landowners, outfitters, and partners nationwide. At his core, Ben is a competitor, but more importantly, he's a connector who understands team culture, preparation, and what it means to represent something bigger than yourself. Whether he's hosting clients on an upland hunt in Montana, chasing redfish on the coast, or helping landowners think differently about stewarding and monetizing their property, Ben shows up with intention. He pursues excellence, values loyalty, and believes relationships matter more than transactions. At BirdDog, he's building a community rooted in trust, shared values, and a passion for the outdoors — creating meaningful experiences, strengthening partnerships, and leaving the land and the people connected to it better than we found them.
